Clubman of the Year 2018 Steve Foster 1949-
Steve was one of the founder members of the group starting with the hearing-impaired group. He was always active in hearing impaired group meetings in Portsmouth. Steve was keen to help in the broader Portsmouth Community and often undertook practical tasks.

Steve was keen for our club to improve and present a smart image. In our early days as a club, he developed a club polo shirt. and was keen to also develop a range of social activities – organizing a very enjoyable skittles evening.
On the football side, Steve helped to develop the rules of the game within Hampshire as part of the County Walking Football Steering Group. He also trained as one of the first walking football referees for Hampshire FA. He also trained as a referee with the WFA. Only achieving Club status with the WFA, was a disappointment to him and he was determined to be upgraded. With more experience in refereeing rounds of the WFA National Cups, he was very proud to be upgraded to Tournament status.
With the serious illness of his daughter requiring a less polluted atmosphere than a city, Steve and his family moved out of Portsmouth for the cleaner countryside environment of Dorset 2018/19.
He still keeps in regular touch via the Club newsletters.
Footnote: Sadly, with increasingly poor health, Steve had to give up refereeing at the end of 2024.
