The Sue Corfield Memorial Plate
Our club is about fun, camaraderie, mental and physical well-being and of course a game of footy, which most of us did not expect to be doing at this stage of our ‘senior’ years.
The Portsmouth WF Committee presents an annual award to a member who is an inspiration to the club. Called the Sue Corfield Memorial Plate after the late wife of one our founding members, Alan Corfield. Recipients have over-come great difficulties and come out the other end with dignity and hope. They reflect the values of our club and epitomise the aims of ‘Walking Football’.

Clubman of the Year 2025 Tim Healey
Clubman of the Year 2025 Tim Healey joined us in January 2023 and made a profound impression at sessions from the off with his encouragement and advice to all players and his enthusiasm for walking football.
Tactically sound and with an excellent understanding of the game, he brought the best out of players. Tim always sought to be positive and he encouraged players to most of all enjoy the game.
Tim was a big presence in the club and always ready to help those in need and support them. He truly believed in inclusivity. Sadly, he made the decision to “retire” in late October 2025 as his body was racked in too much pain after a session. There were many, many tributes paid to him on the Whatsapp group:
“Really enjoyed having you around as you really understood our inclusivity and always brought us lesser ability, and older, players into the game – very appreciated by all of us seniors.”
“I remember how welcoming you were and how positive and encouraging your comments were whether playing with you or against you.”
“Your support and encouragement on and off the pitch are second to none and most of all you’re a top bloke.”
Tim’s positive influence permeated the club. Hopefully we see him back soon.
